WHAT IS THE BOOKSELLERS' LIST?

Each publishing season, twenty books will be selected for promotion as part of The Booksellers’ List, via votes from CIBA bookseller members across the county. In a time of shrinking book media we can use our collective strength to ensure readers have a new way to discover a diverse range of books, recommended by Canadians, for Canadians.

  • CIBA bookseller members (and their staff) are eligible to nominate titles for The Booksellers' List
  • Nominate as many books as you and your staff would like to champion!
  • There are no limits to the number of nominations your store can make.
  • Don't be afraid to vote ahead for the next season! We'll take care of managing which titles are eligible for each list. If you read something you're excited about, send your nominations anytime!

NOMINATION CONSIDERATIONS (suggestions only)

  • Nominate the books you (and/or your staff) believe should be highlighted for your customers; titles that speak to what makes the indie market unique

  • No genre is off limits

  • Consider amplifying the books that readers might otherwise miss

  • The Booksellers’ List is a national marketing program so cross country appeal should be considered when voting

The more nominations we receive from across Canada, the more vibrant the list will be! Please use your voice and support this important new program.
