Code of Conduct |
The Canadian Independent Booksellers Association (CIBA) is committed to providing an environment in which all members, staff, and other organizations and individuals interacting with the CIBA community are treated with respect and dignity. We are committed to inclusivity and the reduction of barriers due to discrimination. We believe that all people have the right to be treated equally and respect. We will not tolerate any prejudicial treatment based on race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, nationality, citizenship, birthplace, abilities, political beliefs, religious beliefs, or marital status. Harassment, including bullying, discrimination, and personal or sexual harassment will not be tolerated from any person participating in CIBA programs, meetings, events, or other activities related to the association. A person violating this Code of Conduct will be required to leave a CIBA event, may lose the privilege of attending future CIBA events, and may face expulsion from the organization by a meeting of the board of directors or the membership under the bylaws of the corporation.
