It's a new era for online marketing, and now is the perfect time for booksellers and publishers to re-envision what online community engagement can look like. With a plethora of new online channels—and pathways—to choose from for communication and advertising, what does the future of online marketing look like for books, readers, and community spaces? Join Ariel Hudnall, Managing Director at Zg Stories, as she talks Meta, Bluesky, Discord, and decentralized social media, in addition to leveraging your Bookmanager website, newsletters, local collaborations, and micro advertising to support a vibrant, engaged online community.

PRESENTER: Ariel Hudnall is the Managing Director of Zg Stories, a literary marketing agency specializing in book publicity and advertising, author platform development and storytelling strategy. She holds a Master of Publishing from Simon Fraser University, where she also teaches digital book marketing as an instructor. She is on the board for the Canadian Book Club Awards, and over the last ten years, has worked (or volunteered) in the industry as a beta and slush reader, developmental and acquisitions editor, book designer, advertiser, publicist, and marketing consultant. She lives in the Cariboo region of BC, the ancestral lands of the Nazko, Lhtako Dene, and Carrier-Tŝilhqot’in Peoples.
