Do you have a burning question you’d like to ask a pro-bookseller? Here’s your chance to ask us anything! Join CIBA’s team of experienced bookseller mentors for a special summer program. There will be no formal presentation at these events – simply log on and ask all your burning questions!

Mentor: Jo Treggiari, co-owner of Block Shop Books (NS)

Bio: Jo Treggiari was born in London, England, and raised in Canada. She spent many years in Oakland, California and New York, where she trained as a boxer, wrote for a punk magazine, and owned a gangster rap/indie rock record label. Jo is also a multi-award nominated, best-selling author of six books for young adults and now lives with her two children in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia (the unceded, traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq) where she co-owns a curated, spirited, independent bookstore Block Shop Books.

Jo loves to talk about:

  • curating inventory
  • the challenges of operating in a very small space (Block Shop Books is about 500 square feet)
  • handselling
  • social media
  • operating in a tourist town
  • becoming a community hub

But you can ask her anything!

Event time listed is ET.
